LBB's specialist Janet Acheson Ed.S. TVI is the leader for this group. You will learn how to apply braille into your daily activities. This group is helpful for those receiving individual braille lessons at LBB and those who already know braille. Last week Lighthouse hosted students from Keiser University's Occupational Therapy Assistant program. LBB's Orientation and Mobility Specialist, Niola Tabares, shared basic techniques to be a human guide and how to use a white cane while the group wore goggles simulating different eye conditions. Yesterday Lighthouse had the opportunity to share information about our organization with a group from the Leadership Tallahassee and Youth Leadership Tallahassee for their joint YLT/LT Human Services Day! The group used goggles simulating different eye conditions while learning how to be a human guide to an individual who is blind. Special shout out to Kelly Troop Otte and her committee for coordinating and including Lighthouse😊 Lighthouse is proud to report we have 2 staff who were graduates - Alex Otte, YLT Class 7 and Debara Jump, LT Class 27!
