FSU & LBB Career Training Workshop yesterday afternoon was a lively and engaging group. clients worked on their elevator speech, resume writing, and preparing for employer interviews. LBB's David Darm MS, Vocational Rehabilitation Program Specialist, coordinated the workshop along with bringing in presenter, Shawn Einarson, Instructional Specialist at the FSU Career Center. Reminder: The FSU Job and Internship Fair is this Wednesday, March 11 from 11 am to 3 pm at the FSU Student Union, 2nd Floor Ballroom, 75 N Woodward Avenue. This event will be attended by employers from the public sector including federal, state, and local government as well as education and health care industries. More details at: Spring 2026 HELPS Job & Internship Fair (Healthcare, Education, Law Enforcement, Public Service. LBB clients do not have to be an FSU student to attend the fair. However, if you would like to be accompanied by LBB staff to assist with navigating the event, please contact David Darm no later than 3 pm Tuesday at ddarm@seeingindependence.org. Lighthouse is proud to announce the 2026 Paula Bailey Dining in the Dark Paula Bailey Award winner is Jeff Davis! Congratulations Jeff on your continued commitment and perseverance to embracing the necessary accommodations and reaching out to others to help them work with greater intention. He continues to gently pushes others in the blind community to participate in activities and continue to learn skills to be a highly functioning individual who happens to be blind. In addition, he is mastering braille through continued determination and one on one sessions to remain independent as he continues to lose vision.
